There are many interpretations, disputes, myths and opinions about the notion of driving a car. But despite jokes, anecdotes and men's chauvinism, we boldly state that there is nothing in women's nature that would prevent the lady from driving and succeed in driving.
... ♪ The race took place on 11 January 1909 in the United States. The autopsy came into history as the first pure female car race. More than a dozen cars participated. The students started in New York and went to Philadelphia to get back to New York again.
Women participated in races before, but also men. For example, in 1901, a Camille du Gus was involved in a car run between Paris and Berlin. She came to the '32 final. It is true that Camille subsequently abandoned her car chases and took the races on motor boats, without success. In 1904, it won the Algeria-Tulon race.
In the 1920s, the Elyska Yunkov chick was wandering cars. She's got 56 boxes on her record for winning races, all of which have been won for four years. In 1928, after the death of a racer's husband in Nürburgring, Eliska was tied up with a carsport.
Patricia Moss was famous in the 1960s. She won many races of that time, but after marriage, she's out of professional sport.
