First Soviet Sports Car
The 1917 revolution has transformed the country great. After the devastation, large-scale industrialization began. The mobile industry of the young Soviet countries has become a priority industry. It has always been part of five-year-old programmes, but differences from existing world standards have been in favour of public transport and trucks. However, more emphasis was placed on quantity to the detriment of quality. Interest in the development of personal vehicles, if not prohibited, has not been encouraged. The list of models produced for the population was extremely scarce, and it was completely empty of athletes. The once-named Russo-Balt S24 is completely lost in the previous chaos of war. The production line has been removed and the collection prototypes have simply been lost.
Despite many obstacles, attempts to create a domestic sports vehicle were made. There's a result. A built-in copy of engineering thought, known as GAS-Aero, has been quite successful both in design and speed. And, importantly, at that time, the extremely scarce high-octane fuel was cost-effective. European automobile manufacturers at that time had little concern for economism.
Creator of GAS-Aero
The project leader was an engineer, Alexei Nikitin. The automobile began with the manufacture of one to ten, followed by aerodynamic pipe. It's a very bold and not an ordinary decision. Ideally leaked design in the form of a drop, which prompted the team to build further design and modeling models based on these considerations. But the practice was great with theory. Therefore, as a compromise option, it was decided to build the first test sample based on the existing GAS-A vehicle, from which the prototype was obtained by the chassis and partly by the engine. The engine power was reduced to 48 horsepower at 2,600 revolutions per minute with 3,285 cubic centimetres.
